About The Position

In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the MRI Technologist is responsible for operating the MRI scanner and obtains diagnostic scans. Positions patients and administers intravenous contrast media when designated. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times. Job Functions: Performs MRI and MRA procedures utilizing knowledge of technology and body systems and disease processes utilizing the scope of practice for medical imaging as defined by ARRT and ASRT and in compliance with Ohio Department of Health rules and regulations. Maintains inventory with no interruption in service and within budgetary guidelines. Must be able to work weekends and rotates MRI call to include nights, holidays, and weekends. Transmits images to PACS and scans appropriate documents. 75% attendance at Diagnostic Imaging department meetings. (10/year) Performs QA necessary to maintain ACR MRI Accreditation. Other related duties include patient transportation, troubleshoots laser printers and MRI scanner for problems, contact service engineers when needed, etc. Enters orders correctly. Checks billing lists for accuracy on a daily basis during week days. Maintains compliance in RQI. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Requirements

  • Current radiologic licensure from the State of Ohio Department of Health and ARRT registered required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Interpersonal and basic clerical skills, ability to communicate well with others.
  • Must be able to work weekends and rotates MRI call to include nights, holidays, and weekends.

  • MRI Technologist certification preferred.
