Performs all MRI routine procedures for the diagnostic treatment of specified diseases or conditions. Major Job Functions The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Perform all routine procedures designated within the MRI Section of Radiology Department Demonstrates competency and efficiency in the treatment, care of and interaction with all patients of any age to include neo-natal, newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics Responsible for assessing and clearing the patient for MRI safety Reviews the physician order or patient chart for appropriate order, diagnosis and physicians signature Confirms the signed Patient MRI Interview Form Prepares the patient for the procedure, answers any questions or refers questions to the radiologist assigned Responsible for beginning and ending the procedure in the computer system to ensure proper billing for services and to maintain department productivity relative to work area Provides a safe environment to include but not limited to magnetic field exposure, infection control guidelines and Universal Precautions Maintains good guest relations with patients, visitors, hospital staff and medical staff to include the use of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation and Thank you) Monitors the quality of care based on on-going monitors striving for continuous quality improvement Other duties as assigned
