About The Position

The MRI Technologist performs and supervises all activities of Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures and assures accuracy in securing MRIs ordered by physicians for diagnostic purposes. He/She ensures that the Radiology department meets JCAHO/ARRT/ACR standards and achieves the SRHS objectives. The MRI Technologist assists with the development and revision of policies, procedures, and protocols as requested. The MRI Technologist operates equipment requiring detailed concentration for extended periods of time, stocks an adequate inventory of supplies at all times, and maintains quality control of procedures and quality assurance of equipment.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited, state approved, School of Radiologic Technology required.
  • Must be currently registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • MRI Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists at (or within one year of) job start is required.
  • Must maintain a minimum of 24 ECE points in each two (2) year period as required by the AART in Radiology.
  • Licensed by the Mississippi State Department of Health required.
  • Must complete and maintain current BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
  • Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Technologist in Radiology required
  • Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities.
  • Must demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone.
  • Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi‐task in complex situations is required.
  • Must have the ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations.
  • Must possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.)
  • Must have intermediate knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be proficient in vascular access.

Nice To Haves

  • MRI experience preferred.
