About The Position

A staff level position in which the MRI technologist produces quality diagnostic MRI scans on patients of all ages using the MRI scanner and associated equipment for imaging and image manipulation. Tasks are performed with minimal supervision and with strict adherence to quality parameters as determined by the department. Technologists independently perform or assist the licensed independent practitioner in the completion of radiographic procedures. Technologists prepare, administer, and document activities related to contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations or institutional policy. Technologists educate patients and their parents regarding procedures performed and safety within the MRI department. Technologists are responsible in part for performance of the organization’s systems and processes while continuing to recognize the importance of the individual competence of staff. Responsible for maintaining CPR certification and ARRT registration in addition to participation in hospital-wide mandatory education. The technologist recognizes and advocates for each patient being an individual with unique healthcare needs and provides considerate, respectful care affirming the patient’s right to make decisions regarding his/her medical care. The technologist works with other departments to provide a smooth continuum of care for individual patients. Responsible for participation in “on-call” rotation. Works with student technologists to assure a positive learning experience while on clinical rotations at the hospital.

Requirements

  • HSD/GED is required
  • Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology/Sciences or Medical Imaging related discipline is required
  • Radiologic License - Ohio Department of Health is preferred
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography required
  • ARRT registry in Magnetic Resonance preferred
  • Registry with CNMT or ARDMS may be substituted for ARRT registry in Radiography IF candidate is already ARRT registered in Magnetic Resonance
  • CPR is required
