About The Position

It's more than a career, it's a calling. The position is for a full-time MRI Technologist at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO. The role involves operating a scanner to obtain images used to diagnose and treat pathologies. The job requires preparing and positioning patients, selecting anatomic and technical parameters, performing patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination. The technologist will also ensure the quality of images and documents sent to PACS, maintain equipment, and assist in keeping the department clean and orderly.

Requirements

• Completion of Radiology program and ARRT-R credential.
• ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification within 12 months of hire date.
• One year direct experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
• Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
• Enters and monitors patient data and transfers images.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Ensures prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS.
• Ensures equipment is properly functioning and reports potential problems or equipment malfunctions.
• Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
