About The Position

The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations to produce high-quality diagnostic images. This role involves patient interaction, equipment operation, and maintaining a clean work environment, while also assisting in clerical tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Completion of an ARRT approved Radiologic Technology Program or MRI specific curriculum.
  • ARRT certification or board eligible within 6 months of hire; must be ARRT(MR) certified within 2 years of hire.
  • Certification or re-certification in CPR within three months of hire; must maintain 24 continuing education credits per biennium to retain registry.
  • Two years of experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist.

Nice To Haves

  • ARRT certification in MRI
  • One year of experience as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a wide variety of examinations resulting in high-quality diagnostic MRI scans.
  • Properly positions patients for MRI procedures.
  • Uses MRI equipment safely and correctly.
  • Administers specific medications as directed by the Radiologist or other physician.
  • Assists the Radiologist in performing routine and/or special procedures.
  • Assesses patient's condition to determine appropriate procedure and technique.
  • Provides instruction to x-ray students.
  • Explains exams and procedures and acquires patient history.
  • Monitors safety and comfort of patients throughout the exam.
