As an MRI Technologist, you will perform routine MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ages, health backgrounds and conditions. You will ensure they feel comfortable, safe and properly informed throughout the entire process, helping facilitate a welcoming and supportive experience. A caregiver in this position works weekend days from 6:30AM – 7:00PM.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(R) (ARRT), R.T.(S)(ARRT) or R.T.(T)(ARRT)] in good standing OR Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(N) (ARRT)] OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging [R.T.(MR)(ARRT)] Certification within one year of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or in other imaging modalities

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and check patients prior to MRI procedure.
  • Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination.
  • Verify and validate patient screening safety form.
  • Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA.
  • Perform Venipuncture and maintain competencies.
  • Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exams.
  • Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.
  • Assist with scheduling of patients.
  • Administer proper contrast related to patient having MRI exam.
  • Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
  • Complete after hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork.
  • Report any malfunctions, observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or calls for service.
  • Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.
  • Processes billing via RIS.
  • Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students.
  • Attend in-service programs and professional affiliation sessions.
  • Potentially rotate through all imaging modalities sites, and/or locations.
