About The Position

The MRI Technologist is responsible for independently performing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. This role works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. The technologist coordinates patient flow and the activities of the MRI scanner, ensuring MRI safe practices are followed. Professional judgment is exercised in the performance of duties to maintain equipment in good working condition. The technologist may also perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs and may have on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Allied Health with a major in Medical Imaging Sciences including additional MRI physics coursework or completed within 6 months of hire.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • ARRT RT (R) or ARMRIT registry required.
  • MRI registry preferred.
  • ODH licensure preferred.
  • No prior job-related work experience required.
  • One year MRI experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Familiarity with American College of Radiology (ACR) MRI Safe Practice Guidelines.
  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage.
  • Knowledge of advanced MRI computer applications.
