Requirements

• Associate’s degree or technical degree in a related field
• Must be certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
• State of Florida MRI License

Responsibilities

• Perform imaging, both neuro and body scans, on patients from neonate to geriatric, following age-specific guidelines.
• Transmit images for diagnostic interpretation and keep the hospital computer system updated with the progress of exams.
• Educate patients concerning exams and properly screen for any contrast allergies.
• Complete all exams in a timely manner, keeping workflow moving and minimizing empty table time.
• Communicate effectively after completing exams regarding transportation and discharge of outpatients.
• Operate all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical equipment.
• Review all images of exams, repeating as necessary to produce the best results and notify a Physician of emergent findings per established protocol.
• Enforce MRI zone entrance and fire safety protocol.
