Requirements

  • High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Registered Technologist - Magnetic Resonance Imaging (R.T.(MR)ARRT) [Required] OR
  • American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) [Required]

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing MRI imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Positions, moves, and assists patients to ensure accurate imaging results.
  • Performs clerical duties and provides basic patient care within the scope of practice and departmental standards.
  • Adheres to MRI safety guidelines, compliance plans, and regulations of local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety.
  • Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications.
  • Screens all patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety compliance per facility policy and current safety standards.
  • Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors.
  • Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques.
