About The Position

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist of Urgent Care operates Franciscan’s MRI scanners to create 3D images of a patient's body tissues, which are used by physicians and other healthcare professionals as an aid to diagnosis. The MRI Technologist maintains optimum proficiency and safety during the execution of duties, and works closely with patients to ensure they have an understanding of MRI procedures and are comfortable during procedures. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT PRN position with the ability to pick up shifts as needed Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4pm. coverage and shift schedule as needed

Requirements

  • Relevant Advanced Degree MRI
  • Associate's Degree Radiology
  • 2 years MRI Experience
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT-MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) -Required
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association-Required

Responsibilities

  • Screen patients for any metal prior to all MRI procedures, to assure the patient's safety
  • Consult with radiologists and referring physician prior to the patient's procedure, to assure exams are appropriately tailored to the patient's needs
  • Properly position the patient on the scan table utilizing the appropriate coil and complete the procedure utilizing established protocols, to provide a high-quality diagnostic procedure
  • Document the patient's clinical history, prepare the MRI folder, and accurately log every exam, including scanning parameters, to provide clinical correlation of exams ordered and accurate patient records
  • Perform venipuncture, utilizing universal precautions and OSHA guidelines, in order to administer contrast materials
