About The Position

• The MRI Technologists iFlex Team is part of Intermountain’ s internal travel agency for assignments. • MRI Technologists iFlex caregivers are expected to float to other facilities in the region if not needed at assigned facility. • The MRI Technologist performs medical imaging examinations under the direction of a physician This position functions under the supervision of local imaging coordinator or equivalent, with oversight from Imaging Services Management • It is expected that the MRI Technologist will support system wide and imaging services operational initiatives and practices and will actively participate in safe operations plans as outlined. • May be required to take call. Check out this video and learn more and discover the “Power of We.” This job is right for you if you have the flexibility to travel to Intermountain's different locations in Utah and Idaho for 8–13 week assignments. You must feel comfortable working in multiple units within your specialty. Pay and living stipend will be competitive with local and national travel MRI Technologists rates. We will evaluate pay and living stipend every quarter and adjust based on market trends. Each assignment will have a consistent pay rate but can change when a new assignment is given. For assignments greater than 50 miles from the employee's home, housing reimbursable amounts are determined by the assigned site location and receipts are required to be submitted within 30 days of transaction date. The caregiver is responsible for finding their own housing during each travel assignment. All iFlex employees will be expected to travel to all geographies and able to work at all Intermountain sites. The management team will work with each Technologist on assignments and will take all preferences and needs into consideration.

Requirements

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience as an MRI technologist in a trauma level hospital

  • IV Certification
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Responsibilities

  • Maintain American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
  • Perform exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Adhere to MRI safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
  • Complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.
  • Assist and instruct students and other MRI Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
  • Provide appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.
  • Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Understand and operate equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
  • Keep accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
  • Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.
