About The Position

This is a per diem position. The role is open to MRI Technologist 1 (less than two years of related work experience) and MRI Technologist 2 (two years or more of related work experience). Zeeland Hospital, established in 1921, provides advanced care and has received state and national recognition for safety, quality, and patient experience, operating as a Level III trauma center. The MRI Technologist provides healthcare services by applying pulsed radio-frequency waves and magnetic energy to aid in diagnosis or treatment. This involves performing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures, computer processing, and related techniques to produce images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. The technologist is responsible for providing appropriate patient care and recognizing patient conditions crucial for the successful completion of procedures. Furthermore, the role serves as a role model for comprehensive patient care, addressing the physiological and socio-cultural needs of patients and their families, and acts as a resource for other MRI staff in managing complex issues. The technologist is also responsible for ensuring that equipment is present and accounted for at the beginning and end of each shift and assists in facilitating employee development.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent years of experience in related field
  • 2 years of relevant experience MRI experience Required
  • CRT-Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required Or CRT-American Registry Of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (MRI) - ARMRIT American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Upon Hire required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Provides health care services, applying pulsed radio-frequency waves and magnetic energy to assist diagnosis or treatment
  • Performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner
  • Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure
  • Role model for comprehensive care, addressing the physiological and socio-cultural needs of patients and their families
  • Acts as a resource to other MRI staff in managing complex issues
  • Assures equipment is present and accounted for at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Assists in and facilitates employee development
