About the position

The MRI Technologist - PRN position at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital involves maintaining a safe MRI environment and operating the MRI scanner and ancillary equipment. The technologist will produce quality images as ordered by physicians and communicate effectively with team members and radiologists. Adherence to safety standards, HIPAA compliance, and professional behavior is expected. The position also involves verifying patient identity, preparing patients for exams, and documenting pertinent patient history. The technologist is accountable for department results related to quality, safety, and service, and will participate in achieving organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe MRI environment and operate the MRI scanner and ancillary equipment.
  • Complete workflows in RIS and PACS systems.
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned and ready for the next patient.
  • Produce quality images of identified anatomy as ordered by a physician.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and radiologists.
  • Adhere to safety and professional behaviors in daily workflows.
  • Verify patient identity and prepare patients for exams.
  • Document pertinent patient history to aid in exam evaluation.
  • Participate in assessment of own learning needs and seek professional growth.
  • Accountable for department results related to quality, safety, and service.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of MRI technology.
  • 6 months or more experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of RIS operations.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • ARRT (MR) Registered or ARMRIT registered.
  • CPR Certification.
