About The Position

The MRI Technologist Lead is responsible for daily operations of the MRI Department, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). The MRI Technologist Lead must maintain a high standard of medical ethics at all times. The position requires initiative and independent judgment, and self-motivation to increase knowledge of the field, disease processes, and new procedures as they evolve. The MRI Technologist Lead serves as the first line supervisor of the MRI Department. This individual assures the daily operations of are performed in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner in the absence of the Radiology Manager. Requirements

3 years of CT/MRI/Radiology technology experience
1 year of supervisory/management experience
Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider
Magnetic Resonance Imaging Certification
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) Licensure Specialty: Certification
Radiology Technician
Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners

Responsibilities

Assists in the daily facilitation of the diagnostic area and performs imaging exams as required to assure the efficiency of the delivery of services.
Coordinates and oversees staff and learner training for MRI imaging
Schedule staffing to ensure quality and timely services based on an approved staffing matrix.
Works with radiologists and assists with protocol changes and validations; updates and/or creates policies and procedures as needed
Ensures all MRI safety protocols are in place and staff have completed appropriate/mandatory annual training
Participates in interdisciplinary workgroups as needed
Serves as a point of contact for Medical Staff, department leaders and executives regarding issues, regulatory requirements, and compliance. Directly interacts with other hospital employees, patients and physicians to answer any questions they may have regarding imaging services.
Oversees and manages supply inventory; providing the director with recommendations on new supplies as needed
Assists Director with budgetary information and equipment recommendations
Develops, maintains relationships with internal and external providers and staff to improve patient experience. Responds to patient and other complaints, ensuring appropriate response and corrective action; escalation to the Director and/or Radiology Medical Director as needed
When appropriate, manages schedule over booking to assist in patient clinical needs and urgent add on imaging
Provide input and monitors exam length epic build, working closely with the PACs administrator
Provides additional coverage for services on weekends and holidays, as directed by the departmental manager.
Seeks approval from radiology administration for any unscheduled overtime.
Reviews scans with the radiologists regarding important anatomic detail and areas of abnormalities when necessary.
Inputs and verifies all data in PACS.
Assures that all clerical functions are carried out efficiently and helps as needed with departmental personnel.
Ensures daily equipment checks are completed, troubleshoots equipment and documents any equipment downtime.
Performs quality control checks routinely on all imaging procedures for their respective shift and subordinates.
Ensures all screening forms are completed and accurate.
Assures that a safe environment is kept for all employees and patients.
Maintains inventory of supplies and orders as needed.
