About The Position

Under the direction of a Radiologist, Facility Manager or Site Supervisor leads or performs radiographic procedures according to protocols established for various age groups of patients, requiring minimal supervision. Leads, supervises and performs a wide variety of general radiographs, DEXA, fluoroscopy and or special procedures that will require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. radiological diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated area or procedures as required. Serves as a resource person, assists work schedule and ensures proper safety protocols are followed. Assists Site Supervisor or Facility Administrator in orienting, scheduling, evaluating and assigning work to team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities\: (overall) include the following. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current and valid Florida State License (CRT)
  • Basic Life Support BLS through the American Heart Association (CPR)
  • Graduate of a 2-year radiologic technology program from an accredited school
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry

Responsibilities

  • As Team Lead or Supervisor performs the work of the team member lead\: assigns and directs daily work assignments and activities of the team ensuring that established policies, practices, procedure standards are followed.
  • Positions patients and controls the radiation in order to achieve the prescribed radiograph. A sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology so that independent selection/modification of technical factors produce quality exams.
  • Assists in the use of a variety of equipment or procedures not routinely used.
  • Participates in the development of new procedures/technical factors for examination standards.
  • Maintains a productive work relationship with radiologists and the department team.
  • Promotes a positive image of Radiology/Imaging and the organization through professional conduct, appearance and communication.
  • Responsible for specific areas of clinical instruction. Participates in orientation and education of new team members and students.
  • Assumes departmental flow responsibilities and helps make decisions regarding team members and equipment issues, when needed.
  • Stock/Order supplies, check machine for any problems, perform equipment QC as needed and any other duties that may be assigned to you daily.
  • All other duties as assigned.
