Collaborates with the radiologist and fellow staff members regarding patient testing. Complies with MRI safe practices at all times.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and Specialized Diploma
• Graduate of an accredited Radiology program
• Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, families, physicians and nursing personnel.
• Ability to maintain a high degree of maturity and exercise individual judgment in working with patients, equipment, and personnel that are involved in MRI exams.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in all written and oral communications, including email.
• Skills in technical data interpretation.
• BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association Upon Hire
• RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire or MR - Magnetic Resonance Imaging - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within 1 Year or ARMRIT - Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist - American Registry of MRI Technologists within 1 Year

Nice To Haves

• 1 year experience as an MRI Technologist
• Knowledge of Insurance Benefit and Eligibility Websites.
• Knowledge of Medical Insurance Terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the diagnosis and treatment of neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Acquires or produces tomographic images of designated portions of the human body to obtain a diagnosis using magnetic resonance imaging equipment.
• Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
• Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality and patient data/history).
• Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
• Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and any other areas in department.
• Performs contrast injections under the direct supervision of the radiologist or designated physician.
• Additional duties based upon the needs of the department.
