Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology OR
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Sonography OR
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine OR
  • Graduate of an approved MRI technologist program through the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
  • Must have one (1) of the following:
  • Valid ARRT certification OR
  • Valid ARDMS certification OR
  • Valid NMTCB certification
  • Valid ARRT (MRI) certification or graduation from an ARMRIT‑approved MRI program.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Minimum of two (2) years MRI experience, plus experience in one or more of the following:

Nice To Haves

  • Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist license (Preferred).
  • Advanced imaging (3D Lab, IR procedural imaging, Breast imaging, Cardiac imaging)
  • Serving as site proctor/preceptor for onboarding or cross‑training
  • Dual imaging roles with current proficiency and routine performance in a secondary modality

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
  • Exercises professional judgment and maintains a demeanor supportive of high‑quality patient care.
  • Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions to ensure successful completion of procedures.
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age‑specific needs.
  • Provides instructions that promote patient cooperation and optimal results.
  • Performs proper patient identification, acquires clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation.
  • Positions the patient and equipment correctly and adjusts technical factors to achieve high‑quality images.
  • Evaluates diagnostic images for technical accuracy, annotation, and proper patient identification.
  • Applies MRI safety principles for patients, self, and others.
  • Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in QC tasks.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast administration, with or without power injectors.
  • Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Provides medical aid in cases of adverse reaction to contrast or other emergencies.
  • Applies appropriate standard precautions and PPE to prevent cross‑contamination.
  • Assists with supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
  • Uses all Corporate Radiology computer systems accurately and effectively.
  • Ensures safety of all customers.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies as well as federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  • Maintains well‑stocked and organized work areas.
  • May be required to work at any facility.
  • Provides patient transport.
