About the position

The MRI Technologist at Berkshire Medical Center is responsible for performing a wide variety of technical MRI procedures that require independent judgment and ingenuity. The role necessitates the application of appropriate MRI skills to facilitate accurate diagnoses. The technologist may be assigned independent responsibilities by the Lead Technologist, Administrative Director, or Operations Manager. Proper care of clients in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures is essential. The technologist may also supervise or instruct MRI personnel as determined by the Operations Manager or Lead Technologist. Adherence to infection control and body substance isolation practices in compliance with departmental and hospital policies and OSHA standards is required. Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times is crucial. The technologist must demonstrate proficiency in operating PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems, as well as the ability to operate and troubleshoot CR, DR, and PACS applications. Attendance at annual mandatory education sessions, including blood borne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation, is required, along with maintaining department competencies as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of Student Training in MRI.
  • Completion of formal AMA approved program for MRI or Diagnostic X-Ray.
  • CPR certification required.
  • ARRT(MR) certification within two years of hire.
  • ARRT(RTR) certification preferred.
  • Mass Radiography License (MALIC) preferred.
  • Ability to function independently in a high-stress environment.
  • Attendance at all mandatory education is required.
