About The Position

Operate MRI scanners/equipment to demonstrate anatomical or physiological structures of the human body for diagnostic purposes. Produce quality images as directed by radiologists and providers for the diagnosis or treatment of anatomic or physiologic disorders. Demonstrate knowledge of general and cross-sectional anatomy, technical factors, MRI safety, and basic computer skills. Function to work independently and in a cooperative manner in teamwork-oriented atmosphere within the department and hospital wide. Must be able to provide exceptional patient care and satisfaction skills to all customers of the Great River Health. Competent in all routine MRI protocols and procedures, MRI safety and patient care, for all populations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology or MRI Required
  • Radiology Technician American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (United States of America) Required
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
  • Child Abuse Iowa Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services Upon Hire Required
  • Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter - Iowa Department of Human Services Upon Hire Required
  • ARRT license required
  • MRI board certification required within 1 year of hire if not already acquired

Nice To Haves

  • Previous MRI experience (preferred)
  • Healthcare experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure thorough MRI safety screening process
  • Follow and adhere to ACR Magnetic Resonance Imaging guidelines
  • Operate and oversee operation of magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes
  • Key commands and data into the computer to document and specify scan sequences, adjust parameters
  • Position and immobilize patient on scanner table
  • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scans
  • Take thorough and accurate patient medical histories
  • Regular and reliable attendance
