The position is located at 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, New York, and is a full-time role with scheduled weekly hours of 40. The work shift is in the evening, Monday to Friday. The compensation range for this position is $33.33 - $43.33 per hour, depending on various factors including market data, education, experience, and qualifications.

Requirements

  • Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required.
  • Current NYS licensure as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) upon hire required.
  • ARRT certification with CE credits upon hire required.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and utilizes all MRI equipment including imaging coils and patient monitoring systems.
  • Evaluates image quality by troubleshooting scanner or coil problems and scan parameters.
  • Identifies and compensates for imaging artifacts.
  • Reviews MRI registration and screening form to confirm safe access into the magnet room.
  • Assists in training new MRI technologists and students.
  • Performs all filming, archiving, and PACS network data management for each patient scanned.
  • Retrieves old MRI data for restoration and filming or networking.
  • Receives training and regular supervision from more senior technologists.
  • Responsible for scanning patients safely and efficiently, completing all associated paperwork and computer work.
  • Discharges the patient from the MRI department with appropriate post-MRI instructions.
  • Identifies patient service requirements and educates patients/families regarding procedures.
  • Prepares patients for radiological/MRI procedures by positioning and adjusting equipment.
  • Produces high-quality images and prepares them for timely interpretation.
  • Maintains production and quality of MRI images by following established standards and protocols.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients and personnel by adhering to MRI safety policies.
  • Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements.
  • Troubleshoots and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
  • May train new employees or lead day-to-day work activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
