About The Position

The scheduling expectations for this position is to assist with as available coverage at both the Warrenville and Sycamore RMG Orthopaedic locations. The Warrenville scheduling hours are 10-hour shifts M-F starting at 6:30a and Saturdays (Warrenville only) are 8-hour shifts. The Sycamore schedule is M-F starting at 7a or 7:30a depending on the patient schedules. The MRI Technician RMG reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The MRI Tech RMG performs MRI testing procedures. Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their MRI testing needs.

Requirements

  • One year of RT experience
  • AMRIT Licensure
  • 1 year of MRI experience
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Graduation from an AMA/ACR approved school of Radiologic Technology or MRI certification program
  • Either one of the following MRI Certifications: ARRT (MR) or AMRIT

Nice To Haves

  • ARRT licensure preferred
  • Two years of MRI experience
  • GE equipment experience
  • Bachelor of Science is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs high quality MRI testing per department policies and procedures.
  • Obtains accurate patient screening and consent per department policies and procedures.
  • Performs and maintains all quality monitors per department policies and procedures.
  • Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population.
  • Follows all patient safety policies and procedures (including but not limited to: Safe MRI environment, pt monitoring, risk to fall, pregnancy verification, GFR assessment, patient identification).
  • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and professional in stressful situations.
  • Takes MRI call according to schedule. Responds in an appropriate timeframe when called in.
  • Assists with new staff, intern orientation and training as requested.
  • Ensures accurate orders/charges and image file managements.
  • Possess a high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
  • Assists with all other department functions as necessary - including inventory management, maintaining clean/safe work environment, patient follow up calls, etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology
