About The Position

Are you ready to start your career in medical imaging? SDMI is seeking a motivated and dedicated MRI Technologist Trainee to join our team. This is a hands-on training position designed for individuals who have ARRT certification and are eager to gain real-world experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. As a trainee, you'll work under the supervision of experienced technologists and radiologists, gaining the technical and clinical skills needed to become a fully certified MRI Technologist.

Requirements

• Currently ARRT registered
• Basic knowledge of anatomy and imaging principles
• CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)
• Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and staff
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Detail-oriented and organized with strong time management skills
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge appropriate to the age of the patient population served

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience CT or X-ray
• Familiarity with contrast media and IV administration

Responsibilities

• Assist with performing MRI scans under the guidance of certified technologists
• Learn and apply principles of MRI safety, equipment handling, and patient care
• Understand and apply knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI protocols
• Support in preparing patients for procedures and explaining processes clearly and empathetically
• Help monitor patients during procedures, including those receiving contrast
• Participate in quality control and routine maintenance of MRI equipment
• Observe and assist with the use of RIS and PACS systems
• Practice sterile technique and follow all safety and infection control protocols
• Complete all required training modules and evaluations during the training period
• Uphold patient rights and confidentiality standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
