Function: Performs technical and specialized skills in the operation of a magnetic resonance (MR) scanner to provide quality images of patients for diagnostic purposes and performs digital data analysis of multiple variable parameters of the MR scans. Scope: Impacts patient care. Detail Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical and specialized skills in the performance of MRI procedures on MDACC patients. Duties and responsibilities are conducted in a manner that effectively supports efficient patient services. The MRI technologist performs procedures as prescribed by clinicians in coordination with DI faculty. The MRI technologist provides a safe environment for patients and peers and practices MRI and radiation safety using ACR standards and policies. Communicates and works with radiologists, physicists, clinicians, nursing staff, and other patient care providers to ensure high quality diagnostic procedures are performed. Provides training, education, and mentoring to students, technologists, nursing, faculty, and others.
