About The Position

The position involves operating magnetic resonance (MR) equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, including musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic imaging. Responsibilities include obtaining medical histories, preparing and administering contrast media, positioning patients, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. The role also requires maintaining records, entering patient information into the radiology information system, and performing quality assurance tests on equipment. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of patient care across different age groups and adhere to departmental policies.

Requirements

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) certification from CAMRT or ARMRIT.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration from ARRT and MRI registration within 2 years.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months unless exempted.
  • Advanced training in Radiologic Technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and magnetic safety.
  • Competence in IV and venipuncture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Competently operates magnetic resonance (MR) equipment for diagnostic procedures.
  • Obtains medical history from patients and ensures exam accuracy.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist.
  • Positions patients and selects proper scanning factors for imaging.
  • Post-processes images and accurately labels them.
  • Maintains records in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  • Identifies equipment performance issues and performs quality assurance tests.
  • Performs patient positioning and transporting duties.
