About The Position

The position involves performing a wide variety of technical procedures with quality patient care, assisting Physicians as needed. The role is located at Sharp Rees-Stealy Santee and will rotate to all MR locations. It is a Per Diem job with variable work shifts, requiring 12-hour shifts on a 12/36 schedule, and weekend work every other week.

Requirements

• Satisfactory completion of formal training program in an AMA approved school.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - REQUIRED.
• Venipuncture Certification - REQUIRED.
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging Certification (MR)(ARRT) - REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

• 1 Year dedicated MRI experience.

Responsibilities

• Communicate pertinent system issues to the Lead/Supervisor/PACS Manager/Systems Analyst or vendor on a timely basis.
• Maintain department regulatory requirements.
• Verify physician orders and utilize RIS correctly to complete all documentation.
• Accurately complete exams in RIS in real-time.
• Ensure all exams have been completed in RIS and confirm images are sent to PACS.
• Accurately utilize RIS and Synapse downtime procedures when necessary.
• Demonstrate ability to make timely, accurate and safe decisions regarding patients.
• Support organizational cost containment.
• Accurately select Sharp Healthcare medical record number and exam from worklist.
• Provide pre and post procedure education and reassurance to patients and families.
• Maintain AM/PM temperature logs when required.
• Verify patient identification and pregnancy status through the use of double identifiers.
• Follow departmental Safety Policies and Procedures regarding personal protection and patient safety.
