Requirements

  • Graduate of Accredited School of MRI.
  • Four years MRI experience.
  • Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit.
  • Required: ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT, Texas Medical Board License, BLS (American Red Cross).
  • Preferred: One year of leadership/supervisory or management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises assigned personnel and is responsible for effectively and efficiently staffing the imaging section(s). Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI equipment and procedures.
  • Maintain clean, stocked inventory and equipment service records. Works with vendors to ensure optimum uptime of equipment.
  • Ensures efficient workflow in the section by getting patients started on time and keeping room turnaround time to a minimum.
  • Supervises personnel to include interviewing, work allocation, orientation and training, staff development, problem resolution, evaluating performance, and motivating employees.
  • Completes assignments independently and works as part of a team; exercises problem-solving skills.
  • May have access to radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents and other non-controlled medications.
  • Facilitates and participates in current and future Radiology Department CQI monitoring and implement changes accordingly.
  • Establishes relationships with other supervisors throughout MHS to develop a network and mentoring opportunities.
  • Supports the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System and demonstrates excellent customer service at all times.
