Desired work schedule: Friday 7a-7p; Saturday 7a-7p.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • ARRT registered with advanced registry in MRI.
  • Must complete required CEU’s in a timely manner to ensure Certification remains active.
  • Active state licensure, where applicable.
  • CPR Certification is required.
  • 0+ years of experience as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist, required.
  • 2+ years of experience as an MRI Technologist, preferred.
  • IV skills required.
  • Knowledge of MRI procedures and standards.
  • Demonstrate adequate knowledge of anatomy.
  • Skill in operation of MRI equipment.
  • Customer service background and focus.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.
  • Complete scans effectively and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
  • Collect pertinent data about the patient and the procedure.
  • Select the most appropriate, cost-effective action plan after reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patient’s abilities and condition.
  • Screen the patient for ferrous and RF-sensitive material before the patient enters the magnetic field.
  • Position and prepare patients for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures.
  • Select appropriate immobilization devices.
  • Review the patient’s chart and the physician’s request to determine optimal scanning parameters for the suspected pathology.
  • Prepare and administer contrast agents in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Enter necessary patient information to initiate the scan(s).
  • Assess and monitor the patient’s physical and mental status throughout the procedure.
  • Review images to determine if additional scans will enhance the diagnostic value of the procedure.
  • Document diagnostic, treatment and patient data in the appropriate record.
  • Archive images to data storage devices according to established guidelines.
  • Keep workflow in such a manner that it is an effective use of time, equipment and supplies.
  • Implement and maintain the MedQuest Best Customer Service Program.
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions at a level the patient can understand.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.
  • Exhibit a high level of technical competence and clinical judgment.
  • Ensure that the required supplies and equipment are available.
  • Check all equipment routinely and perform preventive maintenance when necessary.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, peers and all members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain a safe environment by monitoring cryogens.
  • Ensure the Center’s compliance with MedQuest Policy procedures, OSHA, local, state and Federal regulatory requirements.
  • Follow radiation protection guidelines.
  • Participate in formal training and service programs.
  • Ensure that deadlines are met with regards to reports.
  • Perform quality assurance activities based on established quality protocols.
  • Document quality assurance activities and results.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with regard to medical records and other data.
  • Cross-train for additional modalities within the center.
  • Complete and retain certification in MRI technology.
  • Build education files on an outstanding or interesting case.
  • Other duties as assigned.
