About The Position

Fairfax Radiology Centers, the largest radiology practice in Northern Virginia, is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused MRI Tech Aide to join its busy MRI Center in Fairfax, Virginia. In this vital support role, the aide will assist MRI Technologists with non-clinical tasks, help clarify physician orders, and ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience. The position emphasizes professionalism, organization, and care to keep the center running seamlessly and make patients feel at ease. This role offers a collaborative, patient-first team environment with no nights, weekends, or holidays on call.

Requirements

• Experience in one of the following roles: Medical Assistant, MRI/CT Tech Aide, ED Tech, EMT or Paramedic, Nursing Student (after first clinical)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at hire)
• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Strong communication skills and a caring, professional demeanor

Nice To Haves

• 1+ years of experience in a medical or radiology office (preferred)
• Ability to start IVs (highly preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding service to patients and families, explaining MRI procedures clearly and compassionately
• Set up the MRI suite for exams and assist patients with safe transfers to and from the imaging table
• Start IV access prior to procedures
• Ensure patient comfort, modesty, and safety throughout the process
• Communicate with physician offices to clarify and complete MRI orders
• Confirm critical exam details (body part, laterality, contrast use) and request order modifications when appropriate
