About The Position

MEDRVA Healthcare is currently recruiting for an MRI/CT Technologist to join our outpatient imaging center in a full time capacity supporting our West Creek location. The technologist will be responsible for preparing patients for routine and emergent MRI and CT examinations in accordance with physicians’ orders and established protocols. The technologist produces high quality MRI, CT and radiographic images and presents them with appropriate patient information to the Radiologist for timely interpretation. Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares patients for MRI and CT radiographic examinations by confirming physicians’ orders, verifying patients’ identities, thoroughly screening patients, and obtaining adequate medical histories to ensure appropriateness of examinations. Prepares MRI scanner and CT and performs quality control tests. Performs MRI and CT radiographic examinations on patients of all age groups. Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge and understanding of MRI and radiographic services while providing quality patient care. Practices safety guidelines for themselves, support personnel and patients by supporting the establishment, maintenance, and education of an effective safety management program. Appropriately screens patients/personnel/visitors and provides instruction for anyone who approaches or enters the MRI control room and magnet room. Adequately screens all patients for contraindications. Maintains authority to administer contrast agents and follows established guidelines for the selection and administration of appropriate contrast types, amount, and concentration. Adequately screens all patients for contraindications. Able to demonstrate proficiency in IV placement for contrast administration. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials to ensure their continued availability and non-interruption of services. Maintains flexibility to staff various shift days, times and lengths

Requirements

  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Advanced level certification by the ARRT in MRI required.
  • VA State Radiologic Technologist License required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Completion of accredited program in Radiologic Technology required.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist experience preferred but not required
  • 3 years MRI technologist experience preferred but not required
  • Siemens MRI experience preferred.
