About The Position

Texas Oncology is looking for a MRI/CT Technologist to join our team! This position will support the Imaging/Radiation Oncology Department at our TXO Texas Imaging and Infusion Center location located in Dallas, Texas. This position will be either a level 1, 2 or Sr based on relevant candidate experience. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school.
  • Minimum three years experience as a MRI/CT Technologist.
  • Certification as a registered radiologic technologist (ARRT) required.
  • Current IV and CPR certifications required.
  • Minimum five years experience as a MRI/CT Technologist (Level 2)
  • Minimum seven years experience as a MRI/CT Technologist (Level Sr)

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in MRI and CT preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs MRI and CT procedures as ordered, achieving a high level of image quality and diagnostic accuracy.
  • Provides expertise to physicians regarding exam protocols, appropriateness of additional or modified studies, contrast use, and imaging techniques.
  • Screens patients thoroughly for MRI and CT safety, including implants, devices, contrast contraindications, and radiation safety considerations.
  • Prepares and positions patients appropriately for MRI and CT examinations, ensuring comfort, safety, and clear communication throughout the procedure.
  • Escorts patients to and from the imaging suite and assists with patient transfers, positioning aids, and post exam needs as required.
  • Administers contrast agents for MRI and CT per protocol and physician order, following established safety, monitoring, and documentation guidelines.
  • Completes all required documentation and paperwork to ensure accurate and timely delivery of imaging services.
  • Provides protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed MRI and radiation safety standards and facility policies.
  • Ensures the safety, privacy, and physical comfort of the patient while in technologist care.
  • Conducts daily quality assurance and quality control procedures to monitor MRI and CT equipment performance. Reports all malfunctions, image quality concerns, or safety issues promptly to appropriate personnel.
  • Arranges and coordinates preventive maintenance and service visits as recommended by equipment vendors. Operates MRI and CT equipment safely and effectively in compliance with manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manages image processing, archiving, and electronic transfer of studies through PACS and related systems.
  • Orders, retrieves, logs, and returns outside imaging studies requested from other facilities, completing appropriate documentation.
  • Arranges for the release of imaging studies to patients and outside agencies in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains accurate records for tracking loaned or shared imaging studies.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information related to patients and medical staff in compliance with HIPAA and company policy.
