About The Position

New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center (NHOC), a division of Northeast Orthopaedic Alliance (NOA), is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused MRI Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of MRI scheduling, ensuring patients are scheduled accurately and efficiently while delivering a high level of customer service. The MRI Coordinator serves as a key liaison between patients, providers, and clinical staff to ensure all necessary orders and documentation are in place prior to imaging. This individual plays a critical role in supporting workflow efficiency, improving patient access to care, and ensuring a seamless scheduling experience across our practice locations.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology; orthopaedic experience preferred.
  • Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients and internal teams.
  • Strong multitasking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in computerized scheduling systems and electronic medical records.
  • Strong technical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical office or radiology scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain open communication with clinical and reception areas regarding MRI scheduling changes and other pertinent information.
  • Coordinate MRI appointments by reviewing orders, medical records, and clinical indications to ensure appropriate imaging is scheduled.
  • Assist with daily processing of office correspondence and route to the appropriate clinical or imaging department.
  • Provide patients with information regarding imaging preparation, scheduling logistics, and next steps; direct billing-related questions to the appropriate team.
  • Work closely with clinical staff, providers, and administrative departments to obtain all necessary orders and documentation required for MRI scheduling.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics in applicable systems.
  • Ensure all imaging orders are complete and meet requirements prior to scheduling.
  • Coordinate and prioritize STAT or urgent MRI requests across all locations.
  • Schedule MRI appointments and communicate details clearly to patients, including preparation instructions.
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed or assigned by management.
