About The Position

Evaluates parts, materials, processes, technology or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability and adherence to requirements and specifications. Analyzes failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures. Generates test plans, identifies and categorizes failures, determines root cause and documents results and recommendations. Proposes, develops and validates revisions to procedures and specifications. Determines suitability of parts, materials and processes. Determines suitability of parts, materials and processes and coordinates resolution of issues with suppliers and customers. Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by designing, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating and implementing new concepts and technology. Provides knowledge and technical consultation to internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Associate degree and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work with and around chemicals and sensitive test instruments
  • Ability to work in a spray booth for up to 7 hours per day (when needed)
  • Good communication (written and oral) skills
  • Experience using measurement and test equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with aerospace or automotive paint application, paints & coatings
  • Experience applying and evaluating decorative paint for color match
  • Experience working with Haztrax & MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet)
  • Ability to work alternate shift ( Tuesday - Saturday, or Sunday -Thursday)
  • Proficiency utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite
