About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a responsible, motivated, and thoughtful individual to train as a General Manager for one of their moving and storage centers. This role involves learning how to manage rental facilities to ensure profitability and efficiency, which includes tracking inventory, managing equipment, and solving problems as they arise. Managing a U-Haul moving and storage center is described as varied, fast-paced, and rewarding work. The company emphasizes quick hiring and payment, offering paid hands-on working interviews and a $100 hiring bonus. Additionally, a $300 cash bonus is paid upon completion of the U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through their 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction
  • Computer expertise
  • Organizational expertise
  • Management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to work weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment
  • Track and itemize inventory
  • Ensure that customers receive the highest quality of care
  • Keep track of fuel receipts and petty cash
  • Clean and monitor the premises, and maintain a secure environment
  • Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University
