About The Position

AECOM is looking for a Movable Bridge Engineer (with Railway Bridge design expertise) to enhance the capabilities of AECOM's regional bridge team being based in AECOM's Chicago, Ill. office. Requirements

• BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Ability to pass MVR Check.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree a plus.
• 6+ years of experience designing and detailing bridge structures with an emphasis on movable structures.
• SE license in the state of IL or Wisconsin or with ability to obtain the same in the next 2 years.
• Knowledge of 3D finite element software such as CSiBridge, MIDAS, SAP2000, etc.
• Railroad bridge design experience is a plus.
• Project management skills, including proposal preparation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and lead the movable bridge projects.
• Serve as a technical resource to the project team and mentor young engineers.
• Perform existing bridge inspection, and condition assessment, and develop rehabilitation strategies.
• Develop technical reports, documents, client communication and technical memoranda.
• Prepare contract drawings, technical specifications, design calculations, technical reports, and construction cost estimates.
• Perform work independently with minimal supervision.
• Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
