The school principal at Mountain View Elementary provides positive leadership and guidance to create continuous improvement toward equity, excellence, and achievement for each student. The school principal directs the overall site operations, services, and supervises the staff of the school. The school principal implements policies, procedures, and processes to improve educational experiences; f ocus school resources and personnel on student achievement for student growth; manage a variety of school administrative functions (e.g. student disciplinary policy, school schedule, afterschool programs assigned personnel, etc.) for the purpose of enforcing school, district and state policy and maintaining safety and efficiency of school operations; develops and deploys professional development activities for staff; facilitates learning community meetings such as School Community Councils; represents the school within community forums for the purpose of maintaining ongoing community support for educational goals and/or assisting with issues related to school environment; communicates across all constituencies in a professional, persuasive manner, and; develops and implements research-based school improvement strategies.
