The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is accepting applications for a Mountain Fisheries Supervisor (Conservation Biologist Manager) for our Inland Fisheries Division. The NC Wildlife Resources Commission’s Inland Fisheries Division manages, conserves, enhances, and restores the State’s freshwater fishes, mussels, crayfish and supporting aquatic habitats through fisheries research, fisheries management, hatchery operation, and habitat conservation. The Mountain Fisheries Supervisor is an administrative and supervisory position responsible for program administration; supervision; regional budget administration; and federal assistance grant coordination in the mountain region. This position is responsible for developing and coordinating the fisheries management program in the mountain region, including preparing a regional budget, tracking expenditures, preparing federal assistance work plans, project narratives, performance reports, and submitting annual fishing regulations proposals and fish stocking requests. The position is also responsible for meeting job performance review requirements for staff, reviewing regional activity reports and expenditures, and serves as a liaison between the Division office and regional personnel. The position is administratively responsible for employees, including coordinators, district fisheries biologists, and assistant district fisheries biologists. This is a Monday–Friday position, working 40 hours per week. This position requires regular travel, with occasional travel to the WRC-HQ in Raleigh, NC. This position is based at the Marion Depot in Marion, NC (McDowell Co.).
