About The Position

University of Iowa Health Care department of Material Services is seeking a full-time Motor Vehicle Operator II to properly and safely transport mobile case carts containing surgical instruments back and forth between off-site sterilization location and main campus, University of Iowa Health Care. This position will be scheduled Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Duties to include: Loads and unloads case carts. Secures carts using nylon to prevent damage. Communication of location and delivery status using hospital supplied cell phone both audio and text. Drive a straight truck, with air brakes and automatic transmission, with a GVWR of 26,000 lbs. or less. Operate a mechanical rear liftgate. Operate loading dock doors and dock levelers. Services vehicles, both interior and exterior, including cleaning and washing with power equipment, refueling and other minor items of vehicle maintenance as required. Performs as a warehouse worker when not driving. Requirements

• One year experience driving straight trucks
• Must have a valid driver’s license, in good standing, equivalent to or greater than an Iowa Class D – Chauffeur Endorsement 2 (and ability to meet UI Fleeet Safety Standards)

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months experience working in a warehouse receiving, storing, picking, and shipping supplies
• At least 6 months experience inputting warehouse transactions into computer-based inventory tracking systems both manually and using scanners
