About The Position

Motor Vehicle Mechanics supporting the US Army Operational Test Command (USAOTC) Intelligence Electronic Warfare Test Directorate (IEWTD) at Fort Huachuca Arizona for the Test Technology Support Services (TTSS) contract. The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors.

Requirements

  • Rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Can identify and communicate risks and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.
  • Ability to use general office equipment such as phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
  • Ability to follow a process.
  • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
  • Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions.
  • Must be able to communicate issues to management.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Must fluently speak, read, understand, and write the English language
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred to have experience working with the Army's System of Record - Global Combat Support Systems-Army (GCSS-Army) specifically the maintenance scheduled and unscheduled, repair parts, bench stock, MILSTRIP, dispatching, and repairs modules of the GCSS-Army System.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors.
  • Diagnose the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required.
  • Replace worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts.
  • Grinding and adjusting valves.
  • Rebuilding carburetors.
  • Overhauling transmissions.
  • Repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
