About The Position

The Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 4 position is an advanced role within the Louisiana Department of Public Safety, specifically in the Office of Motor Vehicles. This position involves performing specialized rover functions by traveling to various motor vehicle field offices to assist during personnel shortages, as well as conducting compliance audits and providing technical support. Requirements

  • Four years of continuous employment in a relevant field.
  • College training may substitute for experience on a basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience.
  • Training in a business school or technical institute may substitute for experience on a basis of one month of training for one month of experience.
  • Possession of a valid Louisiana driver's license may be required at the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to various field offices to assist in daily operations during personnel shortages.
  • Issue drivers' licenses, identification cards, license plates, and title registrations.
  • Interpret, apply, and enforce motor vehicle laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Interview customers for driver's licenses and vehicle registrations.
  • Determine eligibility of applicants for driver's licenses and assess any restrictions.
  • Review documents for title transactions to ensure all necessary documentation is present.
  • Administer tests and issue proper licenses and vehicle registrations as applicable.
  • Collect sales tax and other applicable fees, maintaining daily accounting reports.
  • Prepare reports on office production and inventory.
  • Serve as a liaison with local law enforcement and car dealers regarding motor vehicle registrations.
