About The Position

This job announcement vacancy is located in one of the following parishes: Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, Desoto, Jackson, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, Webster, and Winn. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 1, 2 or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). The minimum starting salary for a Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 1 is $12.25 hourly/$980.00 biweekly. No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy. Requirements

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• May be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license at the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in the issuance of driver's licenses, identification cards, vehicle titles and registrations, and the reinstatement of driving and registration privileges.
• Interview customers, analyze compliance to federal and state laws, and determine requirements and the collection of appropriate fees.
• Communicate with customers through written or verbal correspondence after extensive research and evaluation of the driver's license and vehicle title and registration records.
• Suspend, disqualify, revoke or reinstate driving and registering/titling privileges.
• Process multiple transactions on-line to update Driver's License, Motor Vehicle and Driver Management records utilizing several computer systems and data sessions.
• Prepare daily production report of activities.
• Evaluate proper documentation and/or issue various types of vehicle titles, compute sales/use taxes, determine type, cost and eligibility of regular and specialized license plates.
• Evaluate compliance and/or collect fees with supporting documents required for reinstatement of suspensions/revocations of driving and/or registering privileges under multiple laws.
• Evaluate and certify departmental records to be presented at administrative hearings and at court proceedings in response to subpoenas and petitions filed against the Department.
• Administer and grade vision, oral and/or written tests to applicants for driver's licenses.
• Inspect vehicles for safe operation; evaluate the driving ability of applicants by administering a thorough road skills test designed to test the applicants driving skills.
• Collect and balance required fees with no discrepancies.
• Take photographs of applicants for driver's license and/or identification card.
• Analyze motor vehicle documents to ensure compliance with Louisiana and federal law.
• Conduct special investigations to resolve problem cases expediently and compile documents for record keeping purposes.
