Albany County Road and Bridge is seeking an Experienced Motor Grader Operator. Working hours are 10 hours per day, 4 days a week. MOTOR GRADER OPERATOR GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES : Motor Grader Operator must have experience maintaining and constructing gravel roads as well as plowing snow, using a plow and wing. Operators must be able to safely operate several types of motorized equipment and perform a variety of manual labor tasks. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION : Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of several types of motorized equipment and machinery. Required servicing and making of minor mechanical repairs to the equipment. Ability to follow assignments outlined in detail by the supervisor, standard procedure is followed, and work is inspected periodically for safety and economy in operation. Motor equipment operators spend considerable time repairing and maintaining roads. Ability to lift 80 pounds and work in adverse weather conditions and perform other duties as assigned. EXAMPLES OF WORK : Grade and maintain gravel and dirt surfaced roads. Repair bridges, auto gates, and replace culverts. Operate a truck connection with the transportation of equipment, sand, stone, gravel, and supplies. Operate front end loader, forklift, backhoe and comparable equipment. Perform tasks in the shop when not working as a Motor Equipment Operator. Install and maintain traffic signs. Operate a computer well enough to keep records to maintain time, service, and material records. Interpret shop drawings and construction plans. Operate radio equipment. Operate transit and level to take grade readings. Build and repair snow fences. Operate high pressure water system. Install, repair, and clean cattle guards.
