Position Profile Weaver's Energy Compliance Services team is looking for a Motor Fuels Tax Associate or Senior Associate to join its growing team. The Motor Fuels Tax Associate will identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for various entities and their affiliates. The primary responsibilities include timely preparation of fuel excise and other related tax returns, supporting jurisdictional audits, and performing complex tax-related research. The ideal candidate is a team player who exhibits initiative, accepts responsibility, communicates effectively, and manages multiple concurrent assignments of varying sizes and complexity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA or CPA candidate
• 0-2+ years of experience in motor fuels tax

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA
• Familiarity with basic tax research techniques (RIA, CCH) required
• Experience working with audits and reverse audits
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills
• Strong project management skills

Responsibilities

• Timely preparation of fuel excise and other related tax returns
