ABOUT YOU As a Motor Equipment Repairperson (Bargaining Unit, Local 25), you bring strong mechanical aptitude, sound judgment, and a commitment to safety, approaching each day with reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting seamless airport operations. You stay organized, communicate effectively, and remain steady and responsive in fast paced or emergency situations, contributing to the safe and efficient functioning of Logan Airport.

Requirements

  • Current and valid CDL B driver’s license unrestricted except for corrective lenses required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in maintenance and repair of gas and diesel equipment such as automobiles and heavy equipment required. Experience with specialized Aviation snow removal equipment preferred.
  • Possesses knowledge of automotive, heavy equipment, hydraulic, and electrical systems, as well as motor equipment and power tool operation.
  • Ability to read and demonstrate basic oral, written, mathematical in addition, manual skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with specialized Aviation snow removal equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs inspections, assesses maintenance needs, and completes preventive maintenance and repairs on gasoline, diesel, automotive, construction, fire, and specialized aviation equipment.
  • Coordinates maintenance schedules with the shop foreman and ensures necessary supplies and parts are ordered.
  • Maintains accurate records of repairs, costs, parts, and tool usage to support equipment reliability and accountability.
  • Operates motor tools and equipment safely and responds to emergency situations in alignment with airport procedures and codes.
