Incumbent of positions in this series inspect, troubleshoot, and repair motor vehicles and equipment for use by agency personnel; consult with operators, manufacturers or dealers’ representatives regarding specifications or problems relating to the operation of motor vehicles and/or equipment; write orders and specifications for new vehicles and equipment; and perform related work as required. This is an essential position, and incumbent is expected to report for all Snow and ice events. The selected applicants will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of motor equipment/vehicles used by MassDOT and assigned to District Two and will be assigned to the Chicopee Maintenance Garage. The basic purpose of this work is to maintain and repair motor vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
