About The Position

A Motor Coach Operator is responsible for safely operating a motor coach to transport passengers to their destinations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, customer service, and adherence to company policies and transportation regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class B or A with passenger and air brake endorsements.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age (or as required by local/state regulations).
  • Clean driving record with no major violations.
  • Strong knowledge of motor vehicle operation and traffic laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.
  • High level of attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and varying hours.
  • Willingness to drive long distances, sometimes for extended periods.
  • Ability to manage physical demands such as loading/unloading luggage and sitting for long durations.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and ongoing random drug testing.
  • Successfully complete company training and orientation programs.
  • Maintain professional appearance in uniform as per company standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous commercial driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate motor coaches in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition.
  • Monitor road and weather conditions to adjust travel plans accordingly.
  • Provide a positive experience for passengers by being courteous, professional, and helpful.
  • Assist passengers with boarding, luggage handling, and accessibility needs.
  • Communicate trip information, including schedules and safety protocols.
  • Follow designated routes and adhere to schedules while maintaining a safe driving speed.
  • Manage unexpected delays or route changes with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with proper endorsements.
  • Follow hours-of-service regulations to prevent driver fatigue.
  • Complete required documentation, including logbooks, trip reports, and incident reports.
  • Report any mechanical issues or damages promptly to the maintenance department.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of the motor coach interior and exterior.
