SUMMARY The Motor Technician has a good working knowledge of both past and present product lines, and has demonstrated ability to perform with little or no assistance in major tasks/jobs identified in the Motor Specialist (H2) job description. In addition, the Motor Technician must plan, layout, and perform a variety duties including electrical, mechanical, and general maintenance of equipment as described below. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Repair and Maintenance Tear down, disassemble, and diagnose equipment malfunctions; make repairs and adjustments in order to ensure equipment operates to satisfactory performance. Adjust, repair, or replace electrical motor or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications. Troubleshoot and determine root cause/corrective action (RCCA). Perform necessary Quality checks and data collection Assemble Motors and Prototypes Fabricate and construct equipment or structures by reading and interpreting IM, blueprints, and work orders. Work with new and innovative equipment to maintain any system or process with the understanding of production requirements. Training & Cell Leadership Acquire skills to run all aspects of the cell. Provide first level of support for ME/QE/PLC issues. Support the implementation of Standard Work. Assists with the creation of training plans for new employees. Manages the execution of new employee training plans to ensure completion. Directly provides on the job process training to satisfy training plan requirements. Adds new employees to skills based training rosters and notifies trainers (Solder, ESD, Crimp). Working Relationships Coordinate with other associates within cell and supervisor. Confer with supervisors, engineers, and/or materials specialist to plan or review work activities or to resolve production problems. Advise and support cell team. Education and Experience Requirements Minimum two years’ experience in related field is required. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing and managing files and records. Good written and verbal communication skills and basic knowledge of arithmetic. Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods. Self-motivated and capable of completing tasks without supervision. Being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action. Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Strong mechanical technical background to troubleshoot systems, machinery, test equipment. Actively looks for ways to help people, and instructs others in work. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
