About The Position

You.com is seeking a creative and versatile Motion Designer to join our Marketing Team. In this role, you'll bring the You.com brand to life through eye-catching motion graphics and compelling video content. The ideal candidate will have a knack for visual storytelling, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and love collaborating across teams. This role is part-time hourly role with the opportunity to move into full time as the team grows. The location is hybrid in San Francisco where you will be on-site for events from time to time.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years in motion design, video editing, or related creative fields.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Ability to film high-quality footage with knowledge of how to set up to shoot an in-person event. Familiarity with other animation/video tools is a plus.
  • Portfolio: Strong portfolio/reel demonstrating your motion graphics and video editing abilities.
  • Creativity & Attention to Detail: Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging visuals.
  • Communication: Excellent teamwork and communication skills in a remote setting.
  • Quality + Quantity: Able to work at startup speed without sacrificing quality
  • Time Management: Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a flexible, part-time schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 3D animation tools (e.g., Blender, Cinema 4D) is a plus
  • Sound design or audio editing skills is a plus
  • Knowledge of social media video trends and formats is a plus
  • Experience with Figma and Canva is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design Motion Graphics: Develop eye-catching motion graphics for You.com's website, product tutorials, social media, and marketing campaigns.
  • Edit & Produce Video Content: Edit, collect, and assemble raw video footage into compelling, on-brand videos with graphics, sound, and effects. Think: webinars, talks, presentations, testimonials, etc.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with marketing, product, and design teams to conceptualize and execute visual storytelling projects.
  • Maintain Brand Consistency: Ensure all videos and animations align with You.com's visual identity, messaging, and tone.
  • Stay Current: Keep up with the latest trends and tools in animation, video production, and digital storytelling.
