About The Position

Are you looking for a fun summer job where you can make a difference? MOSAIC Innovation Camp is a brand new summer offering for Middle School students in the Mamaroneck school district focusing on fun career skills development while building a diverse community where anyone can be anything they want to be. What you'll be doing You’re joining a summer camp team where roles and tasks are collaborative and shared. As the Camp EMT you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety and well-being of our campers.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old by the start of the program
  • Valid NYS EMT-B or higher certification
  • Must possess current BLS/CPR/AED certification from a NYS approved agency
  • Minimum 2 years of EMT experience, preference given to those with pediatric experience
  • Possess a valid social security card and NYS state identification
  • Take a background check with fingerprint approval if you are not a Mamaroneck School District employee (we will provide instructions as part of the onboarding process)
  • Provide two professional references if you are not a Mamaroneck School District employee and are a new Co-Op employee
  • Have availability to work the entire camp season and attend all required orientations and trainings

Responsibilities

  • Manage camper health needs at camp
  • Triaging all patient visitors to the nurse's office, assessing and addressing their needs
  • Administering daily medications as needed throughout the camp day
  • Store, manage and maintain daily camper mediations, such as epipens and inhalers
  • Reviewing and managing all camper health records
  • Monitoring campers with allergies, chronic conditions, or special medical needs
  • Responding to medical emergencies, illnesses, and injuries and coordinating with emergency services when necessary
  • Maintain a clean and organized nurses' office/area, making recommendations and maintaining inventory as to supply needs
  • Set-up of the nurse's office/area before camp begins
  • Prepare medical supply bags and medications for trips
  • Maintain proper records of treatment, medical logs and complete incident reports
  • Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed in accordance with camp policies and state regulations
  • Collaborate with camp staff to create a safe and supportive environment
