Key responsibilities include analyzing loan documentation for accuracy and completeness, while working with sales and operations teams to secure all required documents. Job expectations include ensuring compliance with appropriate guidelines and responding to individual and investor audit requests. This position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. Pursuant to the SAFE Act requirements, all employees engaged in residential loan mortgage originations must register with the federal registry system and remain in good standing. Since this position requires SAFE Act registration, employees are required to register and to submit to the required SAFE Act background check and registration process. Failure to obtain and/or maintain SAFE Act registration may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of manual underwriting experience or has been in a Bank of America Home Services Specialist (HSS) role for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Effective time management skills with ability to balance multiple competing priorities
  • Must have ability to manage complex transactions, possess strong credit skills and transaction experience, and demonstrate the ability to work with partners to deliver client experience
  • Must have or be able to obtain the SAFE Act Registration.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates decisions on Home Equity loans
  • Analyzes income, assets, credit reports, and appraisals for accuracy and completeness while proactively identifying risks
  • Manages a pipeline of loan applications
  • Prioritizes tasks to close a loan within required Service Level Agreement periods
  • Maintains a high level of customer service
  • Provides information requested for internal and investor audits
